Municipal Historical Museum - Ivaylovgrad was officially opened on June 30, 2009.
The three expositions - "Archeology", "History of the town and the area before the Liberation" and "History after 1878" are arranged in the newly opened building of the Historical Museum, where can be seen ceramic vessels from the ancient villa Armira, coins, parts from a Thracian funeral chariot and from the excavations of the mound near the village of Svirachi, artifacts from the fortress of Lyutitsa.
Visitors can also get acquainted with the unique geographic and historical map of Bulgaria from 1913, as well as with objects from the town life. The museum serves one of the most successful socialized objects on the territory of Southeastern Bulgaria - the ancient villa "Armira".
The museum is tied to the tourist programs of the Municipality and is well represented in the information space.
