The Center for Underwater Archaeology is a state cultural institute – a legal entity on a budgetary funding by the Minister of Culture and a secondary executive for budgetary credits. The principal activity of the CUA is research, documentation and conservation of the underwater archaeological heritage of Bulgaria (Bulgarian Black Sea coast, rivers and lakes). The Center does not support a permanent exhibition. The cultural values, product of its activity, are exhibited in some of the museums on the Southern Black Sea coast.
