The museum is founded on the 13 of May, 1957. It keeps over 22 000 exhibits, valuable evidence, related to the life and work of eminent figures of Bulgarian science and technology, interesting unique items and etc. At the permanent exhibition area of 1000 sq. meters are shown only about 1000 items from the rich fund. Interest is caused by the permanent exhibitions – “The Beginning – 120 years of Bulgarian messages”, “The Radio in Bulgaria” and “To record and hear the Sounds” at the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication and etc. A restored “Ford” car and other exhibits of the museum are present in the permanent exhibition of the representative of “Ford” in Bulgaria – Ford Moto Pfohe. The National Polytechnic Museum is one of the founders of the Bulgarian Automobile Club “Retro” , in which the members are owners of old cars and motorcycles. The museum offers various educational programs and a virtual tour for those tempted by the history of engineering.
